Pecan Grove Residence
Pecan Grove Residence
The Pecan Grove Residence reconciles opposing desires: the lightness of form with structural demands; openness and connection balanced by privacy; and mystery tempered by practicality.
While its massing nods to tradition, the spirit of the design is reimagined. Wrapped in artisanal brick and natural stucco, the home inhabits a liminal space between the leafy calm of shaded front yards and the hidden vitality of a courtyard crowned by towering pecan trees. Here, walls become veils—modulating light, framing privacy, and inviting fleeting glimpses beyond.
Inside, spaces unfold to both lush exterior and unexpected interior volumes. A sunken living room, embraced by a planter rich with river fern and leopard plants, fosters tactile intimacy. The plan’s geometry choreographs strong sightlines from front to back, while verticality culminates in a soaring 20-foot-tall kitchen volume anchoring the home’s heart. Private rooms radiate around this core, their windows framing unique landscape views. Throughout, meticulous details—the play of light and shadow on textured surfaces, the precision of a mitered marble island, and bespoke cabinetry—anchor the home’s ethereal character in tangible artistry.
