Overview

The River Hills Residence is a corrugated, and at-times perforated, steel clad volume hovering above the landscape of cedars, live oaks and yaupon trees. The visitor enters in the middle of the house where one is alternatively drawn horizontally into the landscape and further into the house; double height spaces are carved into the bar above providing a space of unexpected height and light, while a delicate steel stair slips in adjacent to the perforated cladding and connects to the private areas of the home while providing a veiled view towards the Colorado river in the distance.
